Yesterday we hosted our first ever International Women in Engineering Day event onsite at the Havant office. We had 20 students visit us from UTC in Portsmouth which is a local STEM college.

The aim of the day was to provide the students with a real life view on the variety of different STEM roles in the business with the focus on trying to attract more females into STEM roles.

The students had a busy day with an initial session meeting our women in engineering advocates – this provided a great opportunity to talk, find out how they have got to where they are now in their career, answer questions on what its like working in a STEM role, all of which was very inspiring for the students.

They were then given a very informative tour of the labs and offices and had a practical engineering challenge to complete which they all thoroughly enjoyed and excelled at.
