SheCanEngineer is a team formed by engineers with diverse backgrounds, proud to support diversity and inclusion in our industries.

Every year, we host a free STEM event for students in years 7 to 9, aimed at promoting engineering careers to women. The STEM event consists of a range of activities for students to experience, including two workshops, networking stalls, and broadcasted webinar debates.

One workshop involves teams of students role-playing different engineering disciplines, tasked with completing a stadium design. The other workshop is a competition centered around robot coding.

A selection of different engineering institutions will hold networking stalls, where engineers will answer questions about their jobs and showcase interesting artifacts related to their work.

Finally, the live webinar will be broadcasted on YouTube for other students to access. A panel of engineers from different disciplines will debate “Why they are making the best contribution to safety,” in keeping with this year’s INWED theme.
