This year, Aurecon, the Diversity Agenda and University of Auckland’s ‘Women in Engineering’ team are marking International Women in Engineering Day in Auckland, New Zealand, by joining forces and delivering an engaging and interactive event for our future wāhine engineers. We will fill the room with high school students and their whānau, where they will work together with university students and professionals to envisage and build their Future City.
Held on Saturday 22 June in the brand new B201 Building at University of Auckland’s city campus, we’ll start the day with fast-paced lightning talks from a range of practising engineers, covering areas such as infrastructure, transport, climate resilience, communications, health and more. Participants will split into small groups where they will apply the knowledge of all the industry professionals, academics, and university students in the room to their own lived experiences, to create the future city they want to live in. Lunch will be provided to fuel all the creative thinking!
