We are the IET and we inspire, inform and influence the global engineering community to engineer a better world. It’s why we are uniquely placed to champion engineering.

Tech Hub
Giving you access to the skills, connections and support you need to accelerate your career in tech. With women making up only 25% of computing related job roles, technology remains one of the most underrepresented sectors globally. This figure drops even further when it comes to women from BAME backgrounds even though STEM jobs have outpaced the growth of all others over the last two decades. We believe this number should be much higher and it’s for this reason we have spent the last 22 years uncovering inspirational role models in our FDM everywoman in Technology Awards and at our everywoman in Tech Forum. During this valuable work, we have found many outstanding women across the breadth of the sector who are fulfilling their ambitions to become industry leaders and who are smashing any tech stereotypes. We have celebrated these women, the companies they work for, and the male colleagues who support and champion their success in a number of different ways.

The Tech Talent Charter (TTC)

The Tech Talent Charter (TTC) is a non-profit organisation leading a movement to address inequality in the UK tech sector and drive inclusion and diversity in a practical and uniquely measurable way.  Our ultimate goal: that the UK tech sector becomes truly inclusive and a reflection of the society which it represents. We work at scale, addressing the tech ecosystem as a whole to drive change.  We focus on the how, not just the why of inclusion and we bring communities together and support the underrepresented. We have over 620 Signatories of the Charter. Each of these organisations has made a number of pledges in relation to their approach to recruitment and retention. Although it is very much an employer-led initiative, the TTC is supported by the UK Government’s Digital Strategy.

UK Electronics Skills Foundation

We are an independent, UK based charity working to address the skills gap in electronics through raising awareness, promoting interest in young people, supporting the development of those who choose electronics, and building relationships to ensure a thriving sector.

This can only be achieved by working collaboratively, and to date, we have worked with more than 75 employers from across the industry, 28 of the UK’s leading universities, and over 800 schools.
